Note – due to the coronavirus, the 2021 Art Show has been canceled. We will miss seeing everyone but it will make 2022 that much more special. Stay safe, stay healthy!

The Bruce Peninsula Art Show, celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2017. It was started by Stokes Bay artist Vince Elliot. Held in the gymnasium of the Lion’s Head High School, it was originally a venue to exhibit his work and that of a group of his artist friends. They opened it up to other artists in the area, and from there it has grown to accommodate many more … 93 artists from Grey/Bruce in 2016, exhibiting their original works of art in Oil, Acrylic, Watercolour, Ink and Photography and a second Gallery of jewellery, art & photography cards, wood carving, paintings on shore stones, etc.

The Show takes a 20% commission, and gives that money out as Bursaries to graduating Grey/Bruce students who are continuing in the Arts at the post-secondary level. An Endowment Fund has also been set up at Georgian College, Barrie Campus, for a student from this area that they deem worthy. All of these young people are expected to exhibit their first year’s work at the Art Show on the Civic Holiday weekend each year.
